Run by: Mark Rosewater (MaRo)
Mark Rosewater is one of the senior designers at Wizards of the Coast and has been the lead designer of numerous sets. He writes an article every week for the Magic website and releases two podcasts every friday. MaRo also runs Blogatog, an ask blog where he answers questions about working at wizards, designing sets, and numerous other trivia. He offers insight into what it’s like designing for Magic and gives advice to anyone who says that they’re trying to do the same.
Blog #2: Snarkham Asylum
Run by: Matt Tabak
Matt Tabak is the rules manager for Magic. He’s the ultimate authority on what can and can’t be done within the confines of Magic’s rules. For his blog, Matt answers questions about rules, card interactions, and the possibility of certain cards/abilities returning. He also answers the odd question about his preferences in games and such. Notably, he provides a hefty dose of snark to many of the questions that he answers.
Blog #3: A Voice for Vorthos
Run by: Doug Beyer
Doug Beyer is he senior creative designer for Magic and has also written some of the novels that are released for each set. Doug answers questions less frequently than Matt or MaRo, but he gives longer answers. He answers preference questions like the other two, but he also has much more knowledge on the creative side of Magic. He answers all the questions about if a character will come back or if another on is dead. H also provides advice for aspiring writers occasionally.
